Complaints Matter! Reporting any funeral establishment
that is non complying to the FTC rules, or using "tactics" to circumvent
freedom of choice on the customer's part, is the best thing you can do
for all involved. Be sure to send us a copy of your complaint (that you
have filed with the FTC
or BBB or others)

on Free Trade JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A federal judge has opened Mississippi to independent casket dealers who promise cheaper prices, striking down a state law that had allowed sales only by licensed funeral home directors. Thursday’s ruling made Mississippi the third Southern state this year to lose a court fight over laws restricting casket sales. In March, a South Carolina judge struck down that state’s practice of requiring casket dealers to have embalming rooms, chapels and hearses. A federal judge ruled in August that Tennessee’s funeral director law violated the 14th Amendment protection from arbitrary regulation. //////Insert YOUR story here! Email Thelma J. If you have any sources or input on this - please emailKevin Gray, Chairman at kcasket@aol.comLook for an auction on the NCRA web site as we add dollars to our mission's fund. Click on it from the home page http://www.casketstores.com and check out the goods, at a great prices! Many vendors to choose from , various and brand name as well, all for a worthy cause! Opinion / FACT - The troublesome funeral director needs more information. (S)He is under the assumption that there are not many casket stores, and he doesn't have to clean up his act for one (or a few). The SOLUTION!! Send a copy of this NCRA newsletter - if you mail this - he will see that there are MANY and read about how he is hurting his future business with his (or her) "tactics." If you would like to submit address of those you believe might need to read this, email to ask George Silva Jjjgjs@aol.com, if you wish it to come from the NCRA rather than yourself. Note: We have had no reports of heavy handed women directors, does anyone have any to report? Are they just more law abiding? |

There are more benefits in the works for the NCRA members also. 1) The NARDA Credit Union has accepted
the NCRA membership. They will be doing a mailing shortly to outline all
of the benefits.
As Membership Chairman I would like
to welcome the following members who have joined since I accepted the position
of Membership Chairman. We hope each of you will become an involved
member of the NCRA. If we all work together for our common cause we can
accomplish so much more.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas & Happy Holiday season! From all of our families to all of your familes, The Very Best! |
Funeral Home harassment to
Retailers
Author: Bob White The Casket Store, Ga. As a courtesy when
we sell a casket we contact the funeral home to set a time for delivery,
primarily so we won't arrive during the time another funeral service might
be being held.
Funeral Home Professionals. Author Betty Brown, A Team Masters, Oh. To report the good along with the bad,
this trade also has a lot of professional funeral directors that are making
a difference. Most of the funeral homes we deliver to are upright
and not trying to play any shady tricks to make the (family) customer or
us as retailers go through hoops to complete the sale. There have been
quite a lot of shenanigans from those in the trade that wish to try to
prevent the loss of the sale (I.E.: profit) from their funeral home - BUT
as well, there are far more examples of consumers that have learnt as much
as they can about the funeral arrangement process and are bold in demanding
what they want. The directors are learning this.
